However, if some settings are changed in BIOS and the bar becomes longer or moves toward the right side, it means that what you did is not helpful for memory overclocking.

Overclocking 3600MHz Memory kit to 4500MHz with Memory Try It & Memory Force
MSI's exclusive 'Memory Try It!' offers more than 100 OC profiles for popular memory chips on the market including Samsung, Hynix, Spectek, Nanya, PSC…and more.
'Memory Try It!' automatically detects your memory chip, and offers several OC profiles for the chip. What you have to do is choose one of the profiles from the dropdown menu and test its stability. If it's stable then try higher frequency and tighter timings until you find the maximum stable frequency. You can also try to find out the minimum stable memory voltage for your memory kit.

Here is an example of how to overclock an ADATA XMP3600 kit with Memory Try It! and Memory Force.
Start with Memory Try It! DDR4-3866
Let's start from DDR4-3866, which should not be difficult on Z490 Unify. Two profiles are offered for DDR4-3866: CL17 and CL14. It's recommended to start with the loose CL17 and then try with the tight timing.

Stability test with MemTest
Then it's time for stability test. You can test with stability test software like AIDA64 or MemTest used here in this article. The test result suggests the systems are stable with this DDR4-3866 CL17 profile. And AIDA64 read bandwidth is over 54000MB/s, which is 41%~42% higher than stock 2666MHz, and 6% higher than XMP 3600MHz.
▲The AIDA64 memory bandwidth of DDR4-3866 is around 6% higher than XMP DDR4-3600. The bandwidth may vary depending on your system configurations.
Check Memory Speed

When you go back to BIOS, you can find Memory Force bar became shorter, compared to XMP 3600MHz and stock 2666MHz. This suggests that the memory is overclocked and has better performance.

Keep pushing to DDR4-4500
Then you can try a higher frequency. After several tests, the ADATA 3600MHz kit being tested in this article can boot with DDR4-4600 CL-17-19-19, however, it's not stable. After several tries, the max stable frequency is 4500MHz CL-19-19-21.
Generally speaking, CPU SA, CPU IO, and memory voltage all affect memory overclocking. If it's not stable with the Memory Try It! profiles, you can try to increase CPU SA, CPU IO, or memory voltage gradually to see if it's helpful or try with loose main timings.

Many people may have the question about how the memory bandwidth is scaling with frequency. These two charts suggest that both the AIDA64 memory bandwidth and latency are scaling with memory frequency. The higher the frequency, the better the performance.
